Killer Queen

So Steph found out that a great Burlesque troupe would be making an appearance at Joe's Pub and we decided to make a night of it. We started by meeting up at Apple, a pan asian place in NoHo.  We began with some Vegetable Tempura

Vegetable Spring Rolls

I finished that with some steamed stuffed cabbage rolls with wild mushrooms. They were served in a tomato scallion sauce.

The service was good, and we had fun with our waitress. Apparently, there's also a private room for Karaoke, which sounds like a lot of fun. The food wasn't to die for, but it certainly helped that I was quite hungry when we ate.

Afterward, we walked to Joe's Pub. We still had to wait around a bit for the show to begin, but it was certainly worth the wait. Extra points go to Anita Cookie for either being drunk while on the job, or playing the part really well. She was hilarious, while all kinds of sexy. The good thing about this particular Burlesque troupe was that although there was strip teasing, the show was more about being fun than about being titillating.
