Friday dawned on me on the upper east, but the day quickly became frantic as I headed to Bed-Stuy, then Bushwick, then JFK, then East Elmhurst, AND THEN Mornings Heights. After a quick walk around the neighborhood, Chuck, baby and I finally settled on lunch at Community, on Broadway. The object was to feed me into agreeing into giving her a foot rub.
First, we chose from the breads and stuff part of the menu. Sourdough baguette and artisanal cheese.
Tangy Sourdough and Sweet Garlic Confit
and Curry Flatbread Crisp and Edamame Hummus
We shared this with beautiful "GoodSoul" who entertained herself throwing all her toys on the floor, rejoicing every time I picked them up. And then the Entree came: Indian Chicken Sandwich, which is curried pulled chicken on ciabatta bread, with mango chutney and greens and a cucumber apple mint salad in yogurt dressing.
Add to this delicious Sweet Potato Fries
The food was great, even if we had to do the "eat quickly, the child is getting restless" thing. Afterwards we walked home slowly, gave the promised foot rub, before eventually making it to my own home and falling asleep. All in all, a good Friday.
